Our Story
The earliest record of a bagels in Fine family lore is from 1897, when our great-great grandfather, Hyman Cooper declared that he was moving from Warsaw to New York City because "The bagels are better." He ended up in Boston running a fix-it shop, not a bagel shop. Nonetheless, four generations later, the family remains both devoted to and fussy about bagels.
In 2013, Fine Bagels opened its doors in Berlin and has been rolling, boiling, and baking authentic NY bagels ever since. We bake because eating a hot bagel and schmear every morning is not just a privilege, it’s a birthright.
